COLLECTORS PIECE - EXTRA LARGE STILT MUSCLEMAN
Back in the late 1980's, Nancy designed what would become known as the Stilt Top Hat Man. A distinguished man, wearing a his fine tuxedo and top hat. He held a balance bar with two gold balls on the ends and stood on very long legs atop a black and white checkered base. Quickly becoming customer favorite, Nancy expanded the idea to include Uncle Sam, Bathing Beauties and Muscle Men.
The "Stilt People" as they became known, soon took on a life of their own and Nancy added Stilt Santas, Stilt Snowmen, Stilt Bunnies, Stilt Leprechauns, Stilt Chefs, Stilt Brides and Stilt Grooms.
At the time, the Museum of American Folk Art's used the Nancy Thomas Stilt Top Hat Man as the branding for several of print ads.
Varying between 16" and 18", Nancy wanted to make a show piece with the Muscle Man so this guy was born.
